Located in the heart of the Southern Missouri Ozarks, Ananda Kanan Master Unit (“The Garden of Bliss”) is a beautiful and well-equipped facility for personal retreats as well as workshops and group retreats. Ananda Kanan is also known as “The Ozark Retreat Center.” The staff at Ananda Kanan takes pride in serving delicious vegetarian meals and taking care of the needs of visitors, including offering classes in yoga, meditation, health and art. The overall goal is to provide a conducive environment for personal and spiritual development.  The facilities are available for private rental throughout the year by individuals and groups.

The natural environment and long history of spiritual practice makes Ananda Kanan an ideal place for enjoying meditation and self-reflection. Ananda Kanan has a large lake on the property that sometimes has lotus flowers in the summer. There are trails in the forest around the lake and on other parts of the property.

Ananda Kanan has accommodation in two dorms, the Family Dorm, and the Brother/Sister Dorm, and has a total of 102 beds. The meditation hall is the main spiritual center of the retreat center and has a large dome shaped meditation room where most of the activities during Ananda Marga events take place.

The Dining Hall has a fully equipped professional kitchen and seats for around eighty people. At the upper floor of the Dining Hall is a small yoga classroom, living room, meeting rooms, and the Ananda Marga Publications Room.

Ananda Kanan is the home of the yearly Ananda Marga Spiritual Conference that takes normally place on the first week of July.
