The Women’s Welfare Department (WWD) project in Denver is a haven of hope and empowerment for women in need. Our historic 3-story building, dating back to 1891, has been lovingly renovated to provide a safe and supportive environment for women facing financial difficulties or surviving domestic and emotional abuse.

The vision for this project was brought to life by sister MahaJyoti, whose tireless efforts have been instrumental in creating this vibrant center. For over a year, our dedicated Didis have worked diligently to manage the house, undertaking repairs and renovations to maintain the space as a warm and welcoming home.

The first floor is home to our jagrtii (yoga and meditation center) and a living area where women can talk, relax and share. This floor also houses the living quarters for our Didis, who serve and support the women in their care. Here sisters from all walk of life can come to meditate, eat sentient food, learn more about spirituality and yogic life, and enjoy the company of sannyasinii. All women (margiis and non margiis) are welcome to learn and experiment the benefits of a spiritual life style on a daily basis or for periods of time.

The upper two floors are thoughtfully designed to provide three comfortable units for women who are struggling. These units offer a secure and nurturing space for women to rebuild their lives, access resources, and connect with a community that cares.

We warmly invite all ladies to visit our serene meditation and yoga center, where you can discover the transformative power of yogic practices, immerse yourself in a healthier lifestyle, and rejuvenate your body, mind, and spirit.
